There’s more to a holiday in the Caribbean and Bermuda than just sun, sand and sparkling waters (though you’re guaranteed plenty of those) and there are a surprising number of activities on offer for those looking for a little more adventure. Windsurfing, sailing, and bareboating are all popular, and most Caribbean holiday destinations boast good, year-round diving and snorkelling. Wildlife lovers will be spoilt for choice, and birdwatchers, in particular will be in paradise. A family holiday in the Caribbean can be the perfect way to travel with children, with its splendid beaches and great resort facilities.
AITO operators cater for all accommodation needs, whether you fancy a hacienda in Cuba or a luxury spa hotel in Bahamas. You could even experience life on board a luxury crewed yacht for a few nights as part of your Caribbean holiday.
- Combine a shopping trip in New York or Boston with a relaxing holiday in Bermuda where you can windsurf, sail or just paddle in the warm turquoise waters
- Travel in Spring (March – June) to the sleepy island of Tobago on a family Caribbean holiday, and if you're lucky catch a glimpse of the giant leatherback turtles who come to lay their eggs on the North Shore beaches
- Sip mojitos in Havana admiring the Spanish colonial architecture, and salsa the night away Cuban style at one of the many buzzing nightclubs
- Hop your way round the Windward Isles and French Antilles exploring the rainforests, birdlife and mountains of these beautiful volcanic Islands of the Eastern Caribbean
- Rent a boat or kayak to see the nightly displays of bioluminescence at Phosphorescent Bay on the islet of Vieques off the East coast of Costa Rica on your Caribbean holiday.
Generally speaking, the best time to go on holiday to the Caribbean or Bermuda is December to April when temperatures are most comfortable and there is less chance of rain, but this is also the busiest and most expensive period. Travelling outside peak season can dramatically cut costs. You may want to plan your trip around one of the many carnivals throughout the Caribbean, the loudest and wildest of which is in Trinidad, two days before Ash Wednesday in February or March. The four-day St Lucian Jazz festival takes place in mid-May, and the Havana Carnival in late July, early August. With AITO Tour Operators you are guaranteed a great Caribbean or Bermuda holiday whatever time of year you travel.
