The Born Free Foundation
The Born Free Foundation is an international animal welfare and conservation charity, working through advocacy, scientific research, field projects and education to prevent captive wild animal suffering and protect wildlife in the wild. Working with governments, the tourist industry, scientists and other non-governmental organisations, Born Free generates greater public awareness of the issues surrounding wild animal exploitation and seeks solutions to the problems. Friends of Conservation
Friends of Conservation (FOC) is an international charity which has been actively working to protect wildlife and habitats for almost 25 years. FOC work with local communities to develop and promote a balance between their needs and those of the wildlife with which they share their natural habitat. In addition to their own work in Kenya’s Masai Mara, they partner with NGO’s in various locations, including Tanzania, Uganda and Namibia as well as India and the Caribbean.
FOC are involved in the following activities: Wildlife and habitat protection - environmental programmes which provide education, health and community benefits - alternative fuel and energy initiatives - reforestation programmes - anti-poaching and wildlife monitoring campaigns - human/wildlife conflict management - promoting sustainable tourism.
