March to April and September to October are the best times to visit China although as it’s so vast, the climate varies dramatically depending on where you are.

The Chinese New Year starts of the first day of the lunar calendar, usually in February. Accommodation can be difficult to find and prices are much higher. Similarly, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the Eastern countries of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are at their best in spring or autumn as summers can be too hot and winters too cold. Mongolia’s travel season is from May to early October. Generally speaking, Bhutan and Nepal are best late September to late November or February to April avoiding the monsoon season of June to August. Take into account that altitude can have a dramatic effect on climate.
