Largest of the Greek islands, Crete is 160 miles long and up to 38 miles wide, Crete was the cradle of early Mediterranean civilisation and is now an island of unique fascination.

Six kilometres south of the sandy beaches of Georgioupolis and three kilometres away from the village of Vrisses, Maza is a tiny hillside hamlet of a few traditional stone houses and a sleepy square with a small chapel and two tavernas – just a five minute walk from the villa. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and contains valleys of pine forest and olive groves unfolding towards the White Mountains.


Villa Karina has been finished to high standards of comfort to incorporate both the traditional and the modern. Spacious and comfortably furnished interiors leading to large stone terraces, bordered by lawns, with uninterrupted and stunning views over a landscape of olive groves, farmland, vineyards and pine forest.


Car hire is included in the holiday cost. Chania is a drive of forty minutes and Rethymnon is a drive of thirty five minutes. Nearby Vrisses has three tavernas and a selection of café bars, shops and a bank. The fishing village and sandy beaches of Georgioupolis are a drive of fifteen minutes – here there are watersports, horse riding and canoe trips up the river to feed the turtles.
