Day 1 - Starting from Heathrow, you take a scheduled British Airways flight overnight directly to Dar es Salaam.
Days 2-5 - Landing early in Dar, you are met and transferred onto a light aircraft for a 45-minute flight into the heart of Selous Game Reserve. It’s then an hour’s game drive through the park to Lake Manze Tented Camp; you’ll usually arrive in time for a delicious lunch. Spend 4 nights here enjoying 4WD game drives, walking safaris and boat trips on the Rufiji River – all guided by the camp’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable wildlife guides.

Day 6-8 - After your last morning on safari, fly to Zanzibar, where you’re met and driven across the island, for about an hour, to a superb small beach lodge: Pongwe Beach Hotel. All of the 16 rooms of this quiet little beach hotel stand beside palm trees and the lodge’s powder-white beach. It’s quiet, private, and the food is excellent – a great place to relax.

Day 9-10 - You’re again driven across the island on a private transfer, to the heart of Zanzibar’s historic old Stone Town. There you’ll stay in a beautifully-converted old merchant’s house: the Dhow Palace. This is a great base from which to explore the narrow alleys and craft markets – as well as to simply soak up the exotic, perfumed atmosphere here.

Day 11 - Rising early, your private transfer will drive you for about 45 minutes to Zanzibar Airport, to hop to Dare es Salaam – and connect to a scheduled British Airways flight. You’ll arrive back in London Heathrow in the late afternoon, after a superb safari.
