Cricket in the Caribbean and cruising in the Caribbean – each stunning in its own right but put them together and you create the most spectacular holiday imaginable!

Cricket cruises are a speciality for ITC Sports and for 2009 we have chartered Silversea’s Silver Shadow for a superb 16 night extravaganza. The cricket will be fabulous, with part of the First Test in Jamaica and all of the Second Test in Antigua, while the cruising includes beautiful and diverse islands such as St Barths and the Dominican Republic.

Silversea’s “six star” Silver Shadow offers all-suite accommodation, a vast array of facilities, and the highest standards of personal service and attention to detail.

Adding to your enjoyment will be a star-studded line up of cricketing celebrities and entertainers, including David Gower, Darren Gough, Derek Underwood, Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Allan Lamb, David Lloyd, Paul Allott, Antony Worrall Thompson and Mike d’Abo of Manfred Mann.

These onboard Hosts will be joined by many other special guests, meaning that evenings on board will be a highlight of the trip, with “State of Play” discussions, interviews with celebrities, live entertainment, and of course wonderful dining.

So whether you’re an old hand at our cricket cruises or this will be your first floating adventure with ITC Sports, we look forward to you joining us!

Itinerary

2 February Departure from London aboard your flight to Miami. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Fort Lauderdale to board Silversea’s Silver Shadow and be welcomed to your suite for the next 16 nights.
3-4 February Relax and enjoy all the facilities aboard Silver Shadow as we wend our way through the outer area of The Bahamas’ 700 islands, past the Turks and Caicos islands, through the Windward Passage between Haiti and Cuba, then on to Jamaica. The first day of the First Test, West Indies v England, will be shown on board via live satellite feed from Kingston, Jamaica
5 February Early morning arrival to anchor off the coast of Jamaica and transfer to the second day of play of the FIRST TEST, WEST INDIES v ENGLAND, at Sabina Park.
6-7 February Daily transfers to the FIRST TEST, WEST INDIES v ENGLAND, at Sabina Park. (If the final day of the First Test promises to be thrilling, we will alter the itinerary to be able to stay and watch it).
8 February Disembark in Port Antonio on Jamaica’s North Coast; Port Antonio is a relaxed town nestling between the Caribbean and the spectacular Blue Mountains, whose views, waterfalls and famous Blue Lagoon have attracted so many film producers and stars to the area.
9 February A day at sea to relax upon the Silver Shadow as we travel along the south coast of Haiti towards the Dominican Republic.
10 February Disembark at La Romana, the Dominican Republic’s third largest city. Here the island’s top resort, Casa de Campo, offers three championship golf courses, including the challenging ‘Teeth of The Dog’, for those who wish to play. Others may enjoy browsing among artists’ studios, craft shops and galleries at Altos de Chavon, a replica 16th Century Mediterranean village on the cliffs above the resort.
11 February San Juan, the vibrant capital city of Puerto Rico provides a complete contrast. The two impressive forts that make for an interesting sail into the harbour are guardians to the small historic area of Old San Juan, once a walled city where the architecture bears witness to centuries of Spanish rule. Certainly the place to visit whilst here.
12 February Disembark in Gustavia for a day in St Barths – always a favourite for its charm and its casual, yet stylish, French chic. Not to mention the fine restaurants and serious retail therapy opportunities!
13-17 February Daily transfers to the SECOND TEST, WEST INDIES v ENGLAND at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound. This modern cricket ground was built for the 2007 World Cup. Apart from the cricket, there are superb beaches to be enjoyed in Antigua and sightseeing around well-known landmarks such as Nelson’s Dockyard.
18 February Transfer to VC Bird International Airport for your return flight to London.
19 February Early morning arrival in London.
