| Day 1 : Depart London Overnight flight from London | | Day 2 : Arrive Windhoek, 2 nights Eningu Clayhouse, Kalahari, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast On arrival in Windhoek you collect your rental car and drive to Eningu Clayhouse for a two-night stay. This stylish and welcoming lodge is a real gem. It offers five large hand-painted suites, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and hammocks for those essential afternoon siestas. The flat roof above is ideal for sundowners and admiring the stars of the southern sky. Guests enjoy afternoon guided walks, star-gazing and visits to well known local artists. (1 hour drive)
| | Day 4 : 1 night, Okonjima Main Lodge, Central Namibia, Dinner, Bed, Breakfast & Activities Drive north into the Omboroko Mountains to stay overnight at Okonjima Lodge. This comfortable guest farm in the Omboroko mountains has 10 en suite chalets in the Main camp with a lovely pool, and 8 luxury African en suite chalets at their Bushcamp. It is famed for its Africats rescue project, a non-profit project to preseve and rehabilitate large cats so visitors learn a great deal about leopard and cheetah, and can view them at close range in their natural habitat, as well as take the fascinating Bushman walking trail. | | Day 5 : 3 nights, Mushara Lodge, Etosha National Park, Bed & Breakfast After Breakfast you travel North to Etosha Aoba Lodge. The Etosha National Park is one of the finest game parks in Southern Africa. It encloses a vast saltpan that becomes an immense, shallow lake in rainy periods, attracting great numbers of flamingos and other water birds. Mushara Lodge has a lovely position 8km from Etosha and is known for its delicious Namibian cuisine. 13 spacious en suite thatch chalets each have air-conditioning, mosquito nets, minibar and telephone. There?s a welcoming pool to cool off and their morning and afternoon guided game drives into Etosha are very popular. (4 hours, 340km)
| | Day 8 : 1 night, Ongava Lodge, Ongava Game Reserve, Full Board & Game Drives Today you drive to Ongava Game Lodge in the private 30,000 hectare Ongava Game Reserve on the southern boundary of Etosha. The luxurious lodge has a magnificent setting, perched on a koppie overlooking an active floodlit waterhole and the African plains below. The ten air-conditioned chalets are beautifully furnished. Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles into Etosha, as well as night drives and walks in their private reserve with its resident White and also Black rhino (150km - Game-viewing en route)
| | Day 9 : 2 nights, Huab Lodge, Damaraland, Full Board & Game Drives Today you driver to Huab Game Lodge, Damaraland with a stunning location on the banks of the seasonal Huab River in dramatic mountain scenery. This award winning private nature reserve was established as a refuge for the 'desert elephants', Other activities include horse riding, visiting ancient rock paintings, relaxing in the natural thermal springs or stargazing under the African skies. Eight spacious bungalows under thatch provide very comfortable accommodation. Good food and wine are served at the communal table for a convivial and relaxed evening with your hosts. (4 hours, 315km)
| | Day 11 : 1 night, Mowani Lodge, near Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, Bed & Breakfast Travel to Mowani Mountain Camp where it lies amongst rugged boulders with sweeping panoramic views over Damaraland. Styled as an African village, the camp comprises a central lodge, a welcoming pool and elegantly decorated en suite tents with solar lighting. Activities include hot air ballooning and nature drives. The rock engravings and spectacular geological formations of the Twyfelfontein area are truly memorable. (3½ hours, 185km)
| | Day 12 : 2 nights, Swakopmund Hotel, Bed & Breakfast Continue south to Swakopmund. The appeal of Swakopmund lies in strolling about admiring the High German architecture, perhaps stopping at one of the several good seafood restaurants or coffee houses. There are many interesting places to visit within easy driving distance such as the Seal Colony at Cape Cross, the Welwitschia forest and the lunar landscape of Moon Valley. Swakopmund Hotel offers four star elegance in a beautifully restored old railway station. Most of the hotel?s 90 rooms and suites overlook the garden courtyard and swimming pool. | | Day 14 : 2 nights, Kulala Desert Lodge, Sossusvlei, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Today you head into the Namib Desert to Kulala Desert Lodge, a small and intimate lodge with particularly fine cuisine. The design and decor are both imaginative and sensitive to the fragile ecosystem of the area. The lodge is 30km south of Sesriem the access point to Sossusvlei, with some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Nature walks and sundowner drives are also offered, with horse riding and hot-air ballooning optional extras. (5 hours, 330km)
| | Day 16 : 1 night, Bagatelle Ranch, Kalahari, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Set off early northwards to Bagatelle Ranch. Here you can experience the unique Kalahari with its magical sunsets, stunning landscape and dramatic colours. Although classified as desert, the Kalahari has abundant tree and grass species which results in plentiful wildlife. Optional afternoon game drives are on offer. (5½ hours, 490km)
| | Day 17 : 1 night, Hilltop House, Windhoek, Bed & Breakfast After a morning game activity you return to Windhoek to stay overnight at Hilltop House with its beautiful views over the city and surrounding mountains, only minutes away from restaurants and shops. The six en-suite bedrooms are decorated in a contemporary African Colonial style and each room has a minibar, air-conditioning and television. (3 hours, 295 km)
| | Day 18 : Return rental car to Windhoek Airport After a final day of sightseeing and shopping in the pleasant city of Windhoek, you return your rental car to the airport in time for your flight back to the UK.
