Sri Lanka has a lot more to offer than just marine life and this two week trip will give you a flavour of the southern part of the country, particularly from your coastal base at Mirissa. There are also two days set aside for games viewing in Uda Walawe and Yala National Parks where you will hopefully see, among other things, leopards and some of the strong wilf elephant populations.

Itinerary
Day 1
Fly London to Colombo
Day 2
Arrive and transfer to Negombo
Days 3 & 4
Drive to Kalpitiya. Two days of Whale and Dolphin watching off the North-West coast. Stay nearby.
Day 5
Cross the island to the south-east coast via Ratnapura (gem centre)
Day 6
Jeep safari in Uda Walawe National Park. Elephants, deer, jackal, buffalo.
Day 7
Visit Yala National Park for Jeep Safari, Leopard, elephant, deer, buffalo, crocodile and many species of waterfowl.
Day 8
Morning jeep safari before transfer along the south coast to Whales Watching base in Mirissa,
Days 9 - 12
Daily whale watching trips from Mirissa. Time for optional shore based activities.
Day 13
Return up west coast to Colombo. Stay at Mount Lavinia.
Day 14
Return flight to UK
